Random picture of baby and cheerios

Not much going on here of interest. Lots of working, lots of Matt and I passing Cadie off to each other. We are heading to the beach house at the end of next week, and REALLY looking forward to it. I know we just went on vacation at the beginning of June, but I think we can really use this trip too.

tell us...

Cadence likes to play with the door stopper thingy in her room. She pushes/pulls it and then listens to the boingy noise. If you can think of a reason why we need to stop her from doing this, please let me know. Of course, we'll also need to brainstorm on how to get her to stop...

P.S. I'm experimenting with google ads. For a bit, you may see some strange ads on the sidebar. They should become more tailored to the content soon.

Photos from our trip to the Keys, Round 2

Okay, I feel like I should explain this one. Cadence pulled the blanket over her head by herself - apparently that was the most comfortable way to sleep in the hotel room. Matt saw her, told me, we laughed, took a picture, and made sure she was able to breathe under there.

Not only does she love having her picture taken, she loves the camera case!

Someone is 9 months old today...

We had a good day. Went to the doctor this morning for the 9 month check-up. She's doing great - hitting or exceeding all the developmental milestones. She had a two hour nap at school and was happy as a lark when I came to pick her up. Then tonight, we had very fun playtime - as evidenced below.

I am so thankful for her and all the people who love her. We pray with/over her every night when we put her in her crib, and tonight I was overwhelmed by the blessings God has brought us through her. She brings me such joy. The way she sings (in her own baby way, soft high-pitched da, da, da and tah noises) when she plays echoes in my ears.

We call her "Crazyhair"

(Though this picture was taken outside, that's not the wind doing that to her hair. That's just her hair.)
We had a great weekend. Matt and I went to N. Myrtle Beach for two nights with some of the coolest church friends ever, while my parents hung out with Cadie. I love our sweet girl, but it was so nice to sleep and have adult conversation at meals. We came back Sunday and these pictures were taken Memorial Day.
So serious sometimes.

What else is there to say?

She's cute, she's funny, and she's on the moveShe makes me smile, even when I'm tired.
She likes to stand. She likes bouncy rhymes. I wish we had a good picture of the three of us. She looks like her daddy.

Our go-go-go girl

Cadie is always on the move. Even when she was just a few months old, she was - as my Nana would say - "just so busy!" One of her teachers said today that she wouldn't stop crawling even though her eyes were closing. That's our girl - pressing on even though she can't stay awake.

Anyway, she's really fun these days. I took these pictures last weekend.

She's playing with empty cardboard boxes and a plastic sour cream tub. She loved the noises they made on the tile kitchen floor.

A quote to think about...

I saw this on a blog I read occasionally -

Tell me, what is it you plan to do
With your one wild and precious life?

~ Mary Oliver, The Summer Day

I'm so often frustrated because what I'm doing is NOT what I had planned. I don't want these days to slip by me as fast as they are...
