New toy

Cadence got a new toy from her daddy a few weeks ago. She's still working on the walking thing - we've had VBS this week and visits from friends and a brief trip to mountains, so we haven't had a lot of play time lately. She loves this thing, not only when she's pushing it or fiddling with the movable parts on, but also when she sits on it (it turns into a riding toy) and we push her around. She laughs like crazy!

My grandma is doing better and hopefully will be out of the hospital sometime next week. I went to bed at 8:30 last night and felt much better today. Cadence turned 10 months old yesterday and got a new tooth (her 6th) today. Most of today was spent running errands and doing chores, but that's okay.

We really had a wonderful trip to my grandparents' beach house last week. (This is the other grandmother, my Nana.) I have so many happy memories and good feelings about visiting this old house, that it's inevitable I have a great time whenever I return. We enjoy the sand and the waves, but we also enjoy talking with my Nana and Dado, and we got to visit with my Aunt Pami and Uncle Rick too. Cadence, of course, loved to socialize with well-loved relatives we just don't get to see enough. And, she really liked the ocean. She sat in my lap with her toes in sand, just digging them in and out, for quite a while.

I want to post pictures of our great beach vacation last week, but have been busy at work and at home. Also, my lovely yet quite elderly grandma has been in the hospital for several days and is still not in good shape.

Looking very much forward to the weekend...

Not much going on here of interest. Lots of working, lots of Matt and I passing Cadie off to each other. We are heading to the beach house at the end of next week, and REALLY looking forward to it. I know we just went on vacation at the beginning of June, but I think we can really use this trip too.

tell us...

Cadence likes to play with the door stopper thingy in her room. She pushes/pulls it and then listens to the boingy noise. If you can think of a reason why we need to stop her from doing this, please let me know. Of course, we'll also need to brainstorm on how to get her to stop...

Okay, I feel like I should explain this one. Cadence pulled the blanket over her head by herself - apparently that was the most comfortable way to sleep in the hotel room. Matt saw her, told me, we laughed, took a picture, and made sure she was able to breathe under there.


Not only does she love having her picture taken, she loves the camera case!

Someone is 9 months old today...

We had a good day. Went to the doctor this morning for the 9 month check-up. She's doing great - hitting or exceeding all the developmental milestones. She had a two hour nap at school and was happy as a lark when I came to pick her up. Then tonight, we had very fun playtime - as evidenced below.



I am so thankful for her and all the people who love her. We pray with/over her every night when we put her in her crib, and tonight I was overwhelmed by the blessings God has brought us through her. She brings me such joy. The way she sings (in her own baby way, soft high-pitched da, da, da and tah noises) when she plays echoes in my ears.
