an offer...

...not on the house, on me.

Yesterday afternoon I got an offer for a full-time job. It sounds really good - a little suburban library in a small town doing the children's librarian stuff I love doing. For working twice the hours I work now, I'd make almost four times the salary, plus better benefits. It'd be safer than working in the downtown environment I work in now (more stay-at-home moms, less homeless guys).

But then I wouldn't be the stay-at-home mom. Our daughter would be in day care at least a few days a week.

We've been praying and praying and I feel like it's probably best to take the job, assuming they can give me a decent amount of maternity leave, but then I know it will be really hard to not be with my daughter as much as possible.

Please pray for us as we make this decision.

I just wanted to let you know that we are praying for you. Coming from experience of dealing with the struggle, there is something special about getting to do what you are best at and gifted in AND being able to spend time at home being a great mom. I hope that God grants you discernment in your decision!
